I took a gaia planet in the first round, and moved up close to the center of the map quickly. Fortunately the Automas moved in my direction quickly (especially the Taklons, who were farthest away but their faction power essentially makes them jump in your direction) which gave me plenty opportunity to cycle power from the second round on. I had no red planets in range so I was going to be forced to do a lot of costly terraforming early on. Otherwise, the main objectives of this game would be to occupy the most planet types and gaia planets, so I also knew I had to race to the group of transdim planets in the center of the map. When placing the initial mines it turned out I could not be in range of any faction initially, so the first goal would be to move in closer as quickly as possible to be able to cycle power. For setup I generated a game using the seed 1337 in that app. For the first Automa I used the regular Automa deck and for the other two I used this web app on two separate phones. To ease myself into a bigger game and give myself a fighting chance I chose to play with the Hadsch Halla (red) faction, while giving the Automa players the Taklons (brown), Firaks (gray) and Geoden (orange) because they have relatively undisruptive faction powers. There is more upkeep to do, of course, but I didn't find that problematic. Beyond that, the differences were fairly minor. In short, I liked it! I felt like I had to focus more on out-maneuvering and blocking the other players vs a game against a single Automa, and its nice to simply have more growth on the board. Had been looking forward to trying this for a while and figured I'd share a report! So far I had only played Gaia Project against a single Automa and I wanted to try a bigger game.
